| Located in Johannesburg, Unlimited Ieas boasts about its 5 GCC lasers, namely the CII180, Spirit, X252, Mercury III and X380. Their business consists mainly of manufacturing Scrapbooking & Craft products with laser cutting and engraving. A huge part of their business is cutting MDF and thick paper for signage, wine boxes, small scale furniture, models and stencils. | They bought a laser machine from Gencotch about 7 years ago but at that time, it was a Universal laser. Five years ago they purchased a Mercury laser which they sold and bought a Spirit; then last year further 2 units (X25280W lasers) were purchased. Before they invested in laser cutters all their jobs were done manually. “It is a pleasure having the lasers as they increased our quality as well as productivity. Wedding decorated paper needs to have a very thin cutting line and the Spirit laser does the job like a Pro. The engraving speed is exceptional and when it comes to quality, precision and productivity, the conventional manual method was nothing in comparison.” |

If the items are small and need to show details such as a stencil, paper boards will be used. If the product is a candle holder that needs to be sturdier or used outdoors then MDF will be applied. Laser cutters had opened the door to more possibilities and growth. Machines operate 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. They are looking for new avenues of growing their business by exporting their art range to Europe. |
